Why do philipinos think there?

mixed with Spanish people when there obviously not,considering the fact that very few Spaniards came to the Philippines and married them. its clearly show in text books and ancient doents that there not mixed with spanish at all.only a very tiny miniory is mixed with them which makes up less than 2 percent of the population ,there mixed more with Chinese than Spanish. it also eviednt by the way they look they look related to Malay.and the ones who are mixed make up the elite cl or rich people in Philippines.. so my question is why do so many philinos have this misconception that there mixed, its very evident they have this misconception by the way they think here in canada,is it because of there surnames which by the way the Spanish made them take is that the reason or is it the loan words in tagalo?
