Shepherd with seperation anxiety?

He has attached himself to you and you alone,I would say the reason for peeing is marking his territory and you are part of his territory.Try swapping over for awhile you spend more time with the other dog and your wife can have him for a little while.I dont know if it will work with older dogs but I have done it many times with puppies.GOOD LUCK.
